Operations Research and Data Science Analyst

General Responsibilities
The _primary mission of the Operations Research Analyst_ is to be part of the Operations Research initiatives through design, development and implementation. The individual will need to understand and be able to articulate every step in the Hertz Revenue Management Function. These steps include bounding logic, forecast algorithms, inventory optimization, price optimization, and export controls. The individual will work closely with the Revenue Management Systems support team to provide training and explanations to address concerns raised by the user base, support team, and training team. This individual will interact daily with the Operations Research development team to target areas of improvement in the RMS system and to recommend solutions to unresolved concerns. This person is responsible for QA vendor products. The Analyst would work with co-workers that are highly proficient in modeling and statistics. The Analyst will leverage current tools as well as make recommendations on systems that should be used in Revenue management as it relates to modeling and pricing.
1. Re-Platforming of new Revenue Management Systems forecast algorithms.
2. Develop reporting and data interfaces for new model.
3. Develop predictive modeling.
4. Monitor and maintain Revenue Management systems forecasting.
5. Oversee the integration of demand forecasting.
6. Lead advanced analytical studies in improvement, execution and operational efficiencies.
7. Develops pricing and fleet strategy.
Mandatory Requirements
Responsibilities:
Educational Background:
+ Bachelors in an analytical field such as Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or Finance; Masters and/or PhD preferable but not required
Professional Experience:
+ 1-3 years work experience in highly analytical role; travel industry experience preferable but not required
+ Microsoft office skills including advanced Excel and Access Skills; Database skills such as complex SQL queries on Teradata, SQL Server; Report data visualization skills such as SSRS, Power BI, Tableau
+ Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with ability to translate results into understandable and actionable information; strong written and verbal communication skills
+ Modeling experience in statistics, math programming, and probability modelling; Software skills such as SAS, R, Python, CPLEX, MP Express
+ Experience managing requirement gathering, business/IT coordination within a complex, demand/supply planning environment
+ Proven ability to interact with various levels of organization
+ Process innovation and development; management via KPIs, business process redesign
Knowledge:
+ Understanding of the pricing and market concepts in Revenue Management
+ Knowledge of travel industry RM Systems.
+ Knowledge of PROS Revenue Management system a plus

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
